Monza Park

Diospyros lotus, Fam. Ebenacee

A small tree that reaches a height of 15 m. It is notable for its brownish, fissured bark, divided into small segments. The yellow-greenish flowers that come out in spring give way to small spherical berries, yellowy-orange in colour. It is not very common in the Park. One example can be found in the Giardini Reali, along the road beside the Cavriga car park. Others can be found on the left bank of the Lambro near the Mulino del Cantone.
