Monza Park

Ponte in pietra

The “Ponte in pietra” (Stone Bridge) is the oldest in the Park (16th century) and the most northerly of those crossing the Lambro. It is on the edge of the Park in the Villa Santa zone, where the river enters the territory of the former royal appurtenance. The bridge has four arches in stone with ceppo covering. It is of high architectural quality both for the precision of its layout and for its use of first class materials. The bridge originally had an iron gate to prevent the game stock from escaping.
